Animation experiments.

These are some of the practice animations that  I have made after learning different animations techniques that I have learnt. Unfortunately, I could not import them as a GIF so they will not be playing in a loop.

The first one that was a small transformation animation for when my characters turn from there normal selves into their Super hero selves. It came out ok but could be way better with some improvements such as adding more effects to mask the rough transforming body parts.

My second animation was for a running sequence. In this one, I was practicing the motion one makes when running to make sure it is as smooth as possible. It came out better than I expected because I have been having trouble animating complex movements. Now that I have improved, I can make the animation smoother by using some more frames to make it smoother.

The following animation below was me practicing to animate subjects interact with the environment in the background. After last term's project, I did not yet know how to organise my animation folders which really messed me up while animating. After learning how to organise them, which was as simple as separating the background and foreground and animating them separately, I made this animation bellow of a ball bouncing on the walls. It could have been way better if it was a person instead of a ball, so I will make another with a person instead.

For this animation, I was trying to animate an explosion in a hallway, and smoke just flowing out through the halls. It was easier than I expect since all I had to do was create some wavey lines as they slowly expand through the halls.

The tutorials that I learned from can be found below.

  1. Okay, good to see these on here - add references for the videos you have included here.

Do you have any videos/screenshots of the process of creating these prototypes? If so, include them in this post. I might be wrong but include the name of the software you have used here as well as why you used it, why it is better for this project than any others etc.

  2. Also.... these are good efforts, looking forward to seeing how you develop this intgo your final outcome. Remember what we discussed in the tutorial about the pacing of the animation, including a 'set-up' the fire rolling across the countryside (or similar). Interesting short animation here by Gobelins studio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj7zfiMr7UI
