Beat Board Work through.
For this post I will be sharing what I have learnt about beat board and the different ways to develop my story telling through my storyboards. (Beat board, 2023), mentions the different ways that can help develop my storyboard and screen play, and they include the following.
1. Write down the idea concept.
This is the very first step to one needs to do when coming up with a script or storyboarding. In this process, instead of writing down the story ideas, but coming up with different character concepts and the environment they will be in. This outline of ideas will help me develop my creativity as I move build up my story and making slight changes accordingly.
2. Brainstorming.
This is a basic yet important step of the process that include new fresh ideas for the concept of your screenplay with various, simple ideas that give the characters more depth and background. Such ideas could be giving them a name, a background about where they are from, the situation about their environment, or the time in which the character is introduced. These ideas can be written down or sketched.
3. Developing the plot.
In this step, the only purpose of this is to develop my concept of the story, by coming up with different ideas for the plot, how it will play out, and how it will affect the characters with in the story.
4. Logline.
This is a sentence that basically summarises the whole narrative of the story into one sentence. This serves the purpose of capturing the attention and interest of the viewers, which helps the get a better understanding of what to expect.
Above is an example of what a beat board consists of when planning the layout of an animation. It includes the different shots that and texts that has a short description of the the movement carried out in a scene.
Please add examples of other beat boards and perhaps your own initial beat board ideas
