Character designs: Sketches.

For my first character, I started with the main character, also know as shadow. I did some quick sketches in my sketchbook on his design, and drawing different masks.

My first design was half a mask for my character, which I did not like since I wanted full anonymity, and wanted to reveal nothing.

I then tried giving him a gas mask, with the idea of creating a toxic, post-apocalyptic environment, but then I thought that it was a bit too modern for my theme.

Lastly, I then decided to go with a simple full mask to cover the whole face which was simple but perfect. Afterwards, I added a line on the mask that ran across each eye hole, to give sense of a pattern. 

For my second character, after drawing first ideas I had in mind, I really liked the way it looked and did not want to change anything afterwards. I then focused on the style of clothes that I would give him. After doing some research on the Victorian era clothes.

After researching on the type of clothes people used to wear in the Victorian era, there was not much of a difference besides the collar, which was always straight up, and does not folds.

In the sketch, I was trying out different suits with different pieces of clothing, such as  ow ties, or ties.
