Major project: Website research.
For this post I will be studying websites from animation studios that inspired me and analyse their navigation layout through out their website and how quickly one can get the information they are looking for. My first website is from MAPPA;
The moment the website loads up, some quick animations of the text and background can be seen, which is completely different from other websites who's body and just pop up, which captures user's attention from the moment they click on the website. The reason why I chose their website is also due to the fact that everything is fully customized, including the cursor as well. The homepage background acts as a display of some of their best animation TV shows in form of a slideshow, showing the user all the work the could be interested in, helping them to understand more about the company. Besides their background, the homepage has a short paragraph of the aims and goals of the company, which says; "We hope that many talents will gather here, and with their 'creative vitality' to consistently produce new works, we aim to become a production studio with global competence." CEO Manabu Otsuka
After scrolling past the home page, the next page is contains the, physical production, directors, CGI, 2D animators, production development, and rights management all in one place. As you scroll through the webpage, it does not load up the next page or move up or down, instead it transitions from page to page, putting all the information about the company and everything a user need to know in one place. With such features, you can be taken through the whole website with less time and leaving with all the information need about the company.
In the top right corner of the webpage, where one can find the company's socials, their work, and translation from English to Japanese.
After clicking on Works, the website takes the user to the company's work from all the way in 2012 up to date, which can be seen at the right hand side of the webpage and can be interacted with by just clicking on the numbers which immediately takes you to that year's work.
